Christmas is a wonderful time of year to spread the good news through song! The carols we sing at Christmas have wonderful truths to share. Vic Henshall, who will start as the new music ministry leader at Trinity at Four in January, is an enthusiastic and gifted choir director, and would love to get as many of us together as possible to sing this Christmas! See the opportunities below.
So will you get involved? No great singing expertise required! Just get in touch with Vic on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07706880206
1. Trinity Living Advent Calendar- Wed 11th Dec, 6:15 pm
You will probably already know about the living advent Calendar in Henley. This year, Trinity will be filling the slot on Wednesday 11th December, 6:15-6:45pm.
As well as some thoughtful readings, and a short all-age talk, there will be a children’s choir item, and an adult choir item.
2.Trinity at Four Christingle Service- Sunday 15th December, 4 pm
This All-Age carol service will include a performance piece each from the 3-6-year-olds and the 7-13-year-olds.
3. Candle-lit Carol service- Sunday 22nd December, 5 pm
We ran this for the first time last year, and the church was full. We will have an adult choir for this carol service which, as well as leading the singing (and descants!), will also perform a piece or two. The 7-13-year-olds children’s choir will also repeat their item from the previous week.
- So, if you are a young person- there is an opportunity for you to sing at all three!
- If you are an adult, there is an opportunity for you to sing at the Living Advent, and the Candle-lit carol service.
If you’d like to be involved, please make a note of the following rehearsal times:
Adults: Wednesday 27th November and Wednesday 4th December, 8-9:30pm at Trinity Church.
Children: Sunday 1st and 8th December, 5.20pm – 6pm @Trinity Church after the 4pm service
Come and Sing Invitation!
If you have any friends who enjoy singing, Vic will be running a ‘Come and Sing a Candle-lit carol service’. The idea is very simple: invite your friends to come to a single rehearsal the day before, and they can join the choir for the Candle-lit carol service. A wonderful opportunity to reach out to our non-church friends this Christmas.
The ‘Come and Sing’ rehearsal will be Saturday 21st December from 2.30pm – 4pm & Sunday 22nd from 3.30pm – 4.30pm.
